I suppose with my blog's name I really should get down and out with some of these resolutions. I suppose starting this blog is kind of one of my resolutions (though I wanted to start it early to give myself some momentum). So, without further ado, I present to you, my goals for 2016!
1) Drink more water!
This is something I really need to do. Since I was little I've hated drinking water for some reason but this year I've decided it's going to change. I know that you really should be drinking at least 2L a day but that seems a bit too lofty a goal for me presently. I think I'll make myself drink a minimum of 1L a day and gradually build myself up to 2L a day by the end of the year.
2) Study Every Day
A given really but putting it out here will hopefully make me hold myself accountable to this goal. Next year is important to me academically and I really want to give it my all. I want to improve on my estimate and do both myself and my parents proud with the effort I put in. My subjects are quite academically heavy so they will need more time and effort than I've given them this year.
3) Work Out More (or really like ever)
So realistically I'm like the exact antonym of what you'd define as 'fit'. I act like I'm practically allergic to excercise. While this isn't a problem at the moment for me as I still have quite a high metabolism, I know this won't always be the case and I'd rather get into the habit now of excercising. It's also meant to be a good way to destress. I think I'll set myself the goal of once a week with something lighter and hopefully building up to more strenuous activities by the end of the year. This will probably be my most challenging goal I set myself.
4) Actually Blog
So currently I'm really enjoying sharing my life and thoughts with you guys (not that there's really much of an audience at the moment). It's quite therapeutic in a way. Given that, I know I have the tendency to abandon projects halfway. I'd like to make myself a minimum of posting at least once a week even if it's a prewritten post. It's nice to have a place to talk without judgement. I'll obviously give myself breaks for really intense weeks or times where I don't have access to a computer but apart from that I hope to continue posting throughout 2016.
5) Use Up Stuff
While I won't give a list of things I plan to finish right now (that post should hopefully be up in the next week or so) I do want to explain why I want to do this. There's a very consumerist feeling about the online beauty communities but lately there's been a trend towards downsizing and keeping what you truly love. Specifically I've gotten into /r/MakeupRehab over at reddit though I'm very much a lurker there. Having a more curated collection makes sense to me, specifically as I want to save up money and am planning on moving away from my current town for University.
So that's about it. I hope to update you guys periodically about how I'm going with these goals. I hope your encouragement will help keep me strong over the course of the year. Best of luck to all of you and may you have a happy 2016!
